Government Priorize the evacuation and restoration of the infrastructure at NTT Post-earthquake

The Minister of Infrastructure and Development of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) says, the government from the first day of the disaster has been coordinating directly to speed up the handling of the field.

The Minister of Public Works Dody Hyundo is also called to be heading for the disaster site to ensure heavy exertion, especially in favor of the evacuation process of the victims and handling materials that hinder access.

AHY confirms, public safety is a top priority in post-disaster handling. Therefore, the evacuation process has to come first before the government can proceed with the other stage of handling.

In addition to evacuating citizens, the government is also trying to make sure no areas are cut off from access due to road damage or landslides. The damaged infrastructure will soon be cleared and dealt with in order for public mobility and officers to get back on track.

The next path is directed at basic infrastructure recovery. The government ensures the public's primary needs, such as access to clean water and electricity, are an important part that needs to be restored immediately.
